Mckoy St. Project

This Project was one of a kind. This amazing home sits in the wonderful Mckoy Park Neighborhood of Decatur, Ga. This project was an extensive Garden Build in which our team worked thoughtfully and diligently as one Unit to accomplish the best results imaginable.

This Installation took 1 Week. The process included Grading, Rough Grading, Removal of Old Organic Matter, Soil Amendment, 10.5 Pallets of New Zoysia Sod, Brown Cypress Mulch, and a Complete Plant Selection.

This Transformation Helped to elevate the overall atmosphere of this new home located in the Candler Park Neighborhood. This project involved a detailed Hardscape Plan to bring order to the front yard and to create a usable space for this family. Our team then installed a complete Planting Plan.

This was a Complete Landscape and Hardscape Redesign that consisted of 2 phases.

First we completed the Hardscape Portion using Diamond Proface Wall Blocks, Belgrade Origins 60 Paver Landings, and Crab Orchard Flagstone Step Treads and Walkways.

The second Phase was the Landscape portion. Our Plant Selection consisted of “Valley Forge” American Elm (2.5in. Caliper), Black Tupelo (2.5 in. Caliper), Encore Azaleas, Nana Lutea (3 Gal), Weeping Japanese Maple (Roughly 30 Gal), Shi Shi Gashira Camellias, Dwarf Hinoki Cypress, and Dwarf Radican Gardenia.

We brought on Landscape architect Chuck Perry to create a plan for this project. This project was completed in two phases. The first one included a complete landscape redesign with all new planting selections, a 2 tier boulder wall, New sod, and an irrigation system installation. The second phase consisted of a New Flagstone Patio and Retaining wall. We completed Phase 1 in Weeks and Phase 2 was completed in Weeks. We are thrilled with the results from this project.

Ethos Classical Charter School

Garden Lights Landscaping recently partnered with @ethosclassical Charter School for this total playground transformation!

Garden Lights Landscaping thrives in the relationships and work provided for our Atlanta Community. Our Experienced Team has worked with the City of Dunwoody, The city of Decatur, Ivy Predatory Academy, Decatur Nature Preserves, Ethos Classical Charter School, and more to create outstanding landscapes and outdoor spaces.

At Garden Lights Landscaping we are have our core focus around creating value for our clients and providing creative solutions to all unique landscapes. This features a recently installed playground which had some drainage and erosion issues. Dry creek beds were installed which transformed this playground from a muddy mess into a functional space.

Now the third grade class @ethosclassical charter school has an area to play and to learn.

Primrose School of Brookhaven

We partnered with The Primrose School of Brookhaven to make their entryway into the school a colorful, welcoming one with a variety of Annuals. We also added a couple natural boulders to this space to give it more character.

Sankofa Montessori Charter School

This Playground transformation for Sankofa Montessori Charter School was designed by Landscape Architect Chau Wall and the timeline of this project was 4 weeks. We are thankful for the opportunity to create this nature-inspired playground that the kids and staff at Sankofa will enjoy for years to come. Our team first cleared this space which was filled with overgrowth and dirt, in order to give a clean slate to begin our work. We poured over 55 yards of concrete to give more definition to the space and create walkways for all of the play structures. The Custom Structures were all sourced using Locally grown White Oak and pressure treated wood for all of the raised garden beds and rock climbing walls. This playground is made up of:

– 7 Custom Raised Garden Beds filled with Organic Soil
– 2 Custom Rock Climbing Walls A Custom Log Climbing Structure
– 2 Hexagonal Picnic Tables made from recycled plastic

Oakland St. Walkway and Garde

Downtown Decatur Outdoor Living Transformation.

This project involved both Hardscape Elements, as well as Soft Scape features. Throughout this process, our Hardscape Crew first came in and completed a detailed installation of 38 Crab Orchard Gray Flagstone Treads. This client had a yard that was lopsided and lacking intention. Throughout this transformation our team brought forth a centered walkway and access point for friends and family. Our Expert Installers meticulously regraded and installed new Turf and a complete plant selection to encompass the Hardscape into a renewed garden.

This is a complete outdoor living Transformation. Throughout this transformation we removed all old grass and replaced it with a High Quality Pet Friendly Synthetic Turf. The focal point of this Renovation is a Custom Built 12” x 12” Patio and Seating wall built out of Crab Orchard Gray Flagstone. This project is going to flourish for many years to come and we are very pleased with this final product.

This Project Features so many amazing elements. The Plant Material used in this project was selected to add lots of seasonal color to the overall Garden so our client had a space she can admire all year round. We used Fire Cheif Arborvitae, Shishi Gashira Camellias, Nikko Blue Hydrangeas and Much more for the Layout of this Front Yard. Our team also Designed and Installed a Fresh Herb Garden using Thyme, Oregano, Basil, Rosemary, and More.

Lastly, this Garden included various Perennial Flowers such as Firewitch Dianthus and Garden Mums to enhance the overall atmosphere.

Our Client asked for a permeable Driveway that matched the color tones of her house. We selected Belgaurd Aquiline Pavers and the end result could not have been Better!

Shamrock Prosthetics

This Transformation involved many incredible Plant Specimens that will add year long color and vibrancy to this property.

Our client expressed the need for a Drought Tolerant Landscape With Low Maintenance. All of these plantings will require very little maintenance as this landscape continues to flourish over the years.

The alley between our concrete walls was filled with lots of trash dirt and overgrowth which was removed and disposed of by our team. We then amended the native soil as needed in preparation for our 125 Blue Rug Juniper. Lastly, We installed our ground cover (Blue Rig Juniper). This ground cover will eventually fill the entire space permitted, providing our client with an evergreen landscape that will prevent all weeds and invasive species.

For the Front Beds, Out Team hand selected The Succulents and Conifers that Create this Landscape.
