Creating a Lasting Outdoor Learning Space at Chastain Park Conservancy

Chastain Park Conservancy is a non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of Troy Chastain Memorial Park’s natural and historic resources. Chastain Park is Atlanta’s largest city park, a 268-acre green space in Buckhead. Dedicated to strengthening the community’s connection to nature, the Conservancy focuses on protecting natural resources, minimizing environmental impact, and encouraging hands-on community engagement.

The Garden Lights landscaping team was honored to collaborate with the Chastain Park Conservancy in the creation of a new Outdoor Classroom. Thoughtfully designed and built within the park’s native woodland environment, this space is surrounded by naturally occurring trees, shrubs, and native plantings, allowing visitors to experience learning in a truly immersive natural setting.

This outdoor classroom was intentionally crafted to support educational programming and meaningful community connection. Garden Lights Landscaping was able to accomplish this while also preserving the integrity and beauty of the surrounding landscape. The result is a functional, inspiring space that invites curiosity, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for nature.
